Farnborough Rotary club recently raised £4620.18 towards the Robyn Higgins appeal.

Robyn has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma.

Our club Rotarians jumped at the chance of helping and two of our club members Diane Bedford and John Batty, contacted the local Morrisons store in Southwood to ask if we could rattle our tins outside. They kindly agreed.

So for two weekends members of our club stood outside the store and I must say were very generous in these difficult economic times.

Over £200k has been raised but £300k is required to send Robyn to a hospital in New York for treatment that is not available here in the UK.

Robyn has endured 9 bouts of chemotherapy and is obviously a very brave young girl.

We wish her and her family well for the future.

As well as raising £4620.18 our club gave an additional £500.

Almost every night until Christmas Eve, Father Christmas and his little elves (Farnborough Rotarians) are walking the streets and knocking on doors collecting for local charities and individuals.

Of course Father Christmas gets rather busy on Christmas Eve and so on that collection evening, we’ll start at 4.30pm

Where is Father Christmas and his sleigh going to be, you check his route here

If you ever wanted to know where the funds go…please check out this page http://farnboroughrotary.co.uk/Christmas-Charities.html
